As of August 1, 2010 I stepped into a new role with ACTION which will help boost our renewed emphasis on ministering to street children and children-in-crisis. Mary Ann assists me, serves on our Philippine field council, publishes our newsletters and maintains this website. We’re trusting the Lord for 70 more to serve around the world with us. Pray along with us for new workers.

"Do you not say, There are yet four months, then comes the harvest? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together (John 4:35-36 ESV)."

Seven Emphases of ACTION to Reach "All" Street Children Locally, Nationally and Globally

Updated: October 23, 2010

1. Increase direct-contact street ministries emphasizing evangelism and compassionate care, and comprising regular face-to-face contact with street children.

2. Develop a global network of churches, agencies, ministries and individuals in each country ACTION serves which would provide resources and structures to move a street child from the street into long-range care and discipleship.

3. Train Local Churches to put teams on the streets and develop ministries to street children.

4. Coordinate off-street ministries by working simultaneously with specific outreach to street children such as ministry centers, camps, feeding ministries, medical ministries, jail ministries, sports fests, and so forth while developing and maintaining street children ministries in local churches.

5. Create long-range care ministries of follow up, discipleship, and vocational training in co-operation with local churches and evangelical networks.

6. Develop prevention ministries to strengthen families of the poor (i.e. discipleship courses, volunteer training programs, and so forth).

7. Recruit 70 additional ACTION missionaries, as well as local Christian workers to minister to street children in fellowship with local churches. Recruit as many couples, singles and young missionaries as possible. Older couples can work on the street and also mentor younger missionaries.
