Fun, Food, Fellowship and the Gospel for the Forgotten

Each December, ACTION provides Christmas parties for children in crisis and their families, prisoners, victims of natural disasters, and the rural and urban poor. When possible we partner with national evangelical local churches and ministries who will follow up these new friends with the desire to involve them in church activities year-round.

The purpose of our Christmas parties is to provide fun, food, fellowship, gifts and the Gospel to forgotten people who would otherwise not experience the meaning of Christmas – the incarnation of Jesus Christ. Typically those who attend our parties are viewed as trash by society or are invisible as they blend into the background noise and filth of the city. For many it is the first time to attend a Christmas party hosted by loving people who want to know them by name. At a party each person has the opportunity to turn from sin and trust the Savior, play fun games, eat good food, sing Christmas carols, receive a gift, make new friends and simply feel loved. Personally I've been involved in ACTION Philippines' evangelistic Christmas party ministry since 1985 and we go full blast with this outreach throughout December and into early January as funds allow because this is a very fruitful way to reach people for Christ, by either starting new outreaches or strengthening existing ones.

ACTION's total budget worldwide is over $74,000. Our budget in the Philippines is $16,750 so prayerfully consider giving to an ACTION field of your choice or without a designation. Pray that many men, women, boys and girls will trust as Christ as Savior and be connected to a Christ-exalting, Bible-teaching, loving church, and for those who need crisis intervention that they'll receive the help they need as soon as possible.

It costs about $3.50 in the Philippines to sponsor an individual to a party so I ask you to prayerfully consider sponsoring one or several people to a party. Perhaps your family, Sunday School class, office, school or church would like to make this a missions project and partner with ACTION as we partner with others in reaching people who have a name with the meaning of Christmas. We desire to know the forgotten because Jesus knows each of us by name.
